Yu Rao is a full professor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tsinghua University. Prof. Rao is presiding over projects funded by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Prof. Rao has been awarded the Wuxi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Award, the Shulan Medical Young Scientist Award, and the Innovation Breakthrough Award of the Zhongyuan Union Life Medical Award. Prof. Rao is an associate editor of Cancer Innovation, an editorial board member of ACS Medicinal Chemistry Letter, an editorial board member of Chinese Chemical Letters, an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. Prof. Rao has been working on the targeted protein degradation technology – PROTAC – for a long time, and is committed to transforming PROTAC technology into clinically relevant active molecules for the potential treatment of tumors and autoimmune diseases. His representative papers have been published in Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Communications, Cell Research, Cell Discovery, Leukemia, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Protein & Cell, and other academic journals.
